Questions and Answers

Common Enquiries

I know that letting someone else take care of your pet can be difficult. To make the process a little easier, I’ve put together some of the questions I’m frequently asked. If there’s something I’ve missed, just reach out and I’ll do my best to help.

Will you let my cat outside?

I can but only with your say so. I’m happy to let your cat(s) out but this will be at the owners risk. Bosies Cat Care will not be held responsible for any injury or loss out with your property.

My cat requires medication – can you administer this?

Yes I can, having wrestled with my cats in the past I can give medication disguised in food or cat yoghurt. This can be discussed in the initial visit. Please note that I only have Pets First Aid and am not qualified to administer any other forms of medication.

What procedures are in place in the event of my cat falling ill?

  • During the initial visit, an information form requires to be completed and will include your local vet’s and pet insurance if applicable. In the event of your cat becoming sick or injured whilst in my care I will take them immediately to your vet, or if that is not possible for any reason, Swans Vets in Dyce where I take both my girls. I carry a cat basket and towels/blankets at all times.

  • My information/booking form has an Emergency Veterinary Care section which I ask you to sign. In the event of an emergency, this will be given to the vet on arrival. By signing this section, you give your permission for the vet to carry out any emergency treatment on your cat as deemed necessary, the cost of which will be your responsibility.

  • If your cat requires non-emergency veterinary treatment whilst in my care, I will contact you before making an appointment. The cost of which will remain your responsibility.

What documents are available to me for peace of mind using Bosies Cat Care?

  • Bosies Cat Care has full public liability insurance including animal cover.

  • I have also completed the Basic Disclosure Scotland for peace of mind that I have no criminal record.

  • I have studied and passed a Pet First Aid Course in August 2023.

  • All documents are available to view at the initial visit.

Will I receive updates whilst you are looking after my cat(s)?

Yes I will, as little or often as you would like. I can send daily photo/video updates via WhatsApp. Hopefully not but in the event of an emergency I will contact you as soon as possible.
